Sueño de Primavera – A Crochet Outfit for Nancy
Some outfits are made to evoke the warmth of the first sunny days, the fragrance of newly opened flowers, and the beauty of slow, unhurried afternoons.
That feeling inspired Sueño de Primavera, a crochet outfit created for Nancy and made up of three pieces: a strappy top, a flowing skirt, and a delicate floral garland.
I wanted to bring together little details that, when combined, create a romantic and delicate look: wooden beads on the straps, the movement of the fan-stitch skirt, and the little flowers that complete the outfit.
A New Outfit for Nancy’s Little Wardrobe
I love projects where each piece has its own personality, but something different appears when they are brought together.
The strappy top adds a simple and delicate touch. The skirt, with its slightly flared shape and fan-stitch design, brings movement to the outfit. And the floral garland adds that little touch of spring that completes the look.
The three pieces are designed to fit Nancy New / Nancy Colección dolls, approximately 42 cm / 16.5 in tall, and may also suit dolls with similar proportions.
Little Details That Make an Outfit Special
One of the things I love most about this design is the little details.
The straps of the top are decorated with wooden beads, adding something special to an otherwise simple garment. The skirt is built around a combination of stitches that gradually creates its fan-stitch pattern.
And, as the final detail, the floral garland brings together the outfit with its little leaves and flowers.
Each element is simple on its own, but together they create that feeling of a finished outfit I was looking for when I designed it.
A Project to Enjoy Along the Way
Sueño de Primavera is designed as a complete project, but each of its three pieces has its own rhythm.
For the sample, I used Katia Panama, 100% cotton, in pink and green, with a 1.75 mm crochet hook. The pattern also requires a yarn needle, scissors, a stitch marker, two 1 cm snap fasteners, and 24 wooden beads measuring 2 mm each.
The pattern is rated Easy, especially suited to those who are already familiar with basic crochet stitches.
And, as with many of my designs, you can imagine the outfit in different colors and give it a personality of its own.

If you don’t have access to this yarn, you can substitute it with another medium-weight cotton yarn of equivalent DK weight. The important thing is to use a similar thickness to the yarn specified in the pattern to achieve the intended proportions.
